A lite paper-and-dice fantasy game. Roll below your attribute on a d6.

SRPG is a short OSR-flavoured ruleset for the table: three classes, creature tables, spells, and a handful of browser labs so you can roll characters and adventures without leaving the page.

HOW TO PLAY // ONE SCREEN

01 / MAKE A CHARACTER

Three classes

Combat, Manual or Knowledge. Roll attributes on a d6 (with class bonuses), swap two if you like.

02 / CHECK ATTRIBUTES

Roll under

Roll 1d6. Succeed if the result is below the relevant attribute. Advantage = 2d6 keep lower; Disadvantage = keep higher.

03 / FINISH THE JOB

Survive & level

Meet the objective. On a level-up add 1d6 HP, then try to raise each attribute with another 1d6.

About this edition

Prepared from the archived repository peterwjones334/simple-rpg (SRPG v1, 2021–2024). Rules contradictions in the short chain were normalised to the d6 roll-under core on 6 Nov 2026. Python helper scripts from the repo are not shipped here — the labs above replace them in the browser. This edition adds a printable character sheet, a sample List RPG adventure, and PAPER/NEON reading modes (same skin as The Literary Machine). PDF and EPUB downloads of the cleaned short rules (edition 2026-11-06) are available above.

Images and multi-megabyte overview PDFs from the archive were skipped for this preview. Optional field-note material (Parts 1–3, TTRPG Overview) remains in the GitHub archive only.
